Companions, this is an ideal opportunity to increase your Donations to Local Charities. Please read the Letter from the Provincial Grand Charity Steward.
"The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, in his report at the Provincial Convocation in April, made mention of six grants to be made this year by the Provincial Royal Arch Charity. At the latest meeting of the Charity’s Trustees an additional five local community good causes will also benefit from grants. Companions can find out more about the local charities and the presentations made, from the Second Rising News Bulletins on the Provincial Grand Chapter website.
The MEGS also announced, at the June meeting of Worcestershire Installed First Principals Chapter, that the Provincial Royal Arch Charity would offer to “Match Fund” up to £100 one of your Chapter’s Alms collections during the coming masonic year - ending on 30-06-2019. This Province wide “Match Funding” will, of course, be in addition to the grants to local charities and good causes that the Provincial Charity has already agreed to make.
As the Provincial Royal Arch Charity has specific aims to support local charities and good causes the “Match Funding”, of up to £100, can be used only to support monies your Chapter raises for local good causes and not any national charities that your Chapter may wish to support with its usual Alms collections.
When the Chapter wishes to take advantage of this “Match Funding” your Charity Steward, or whoever is responsible, should make a formal request to the Provincial Grand Charity Steward when submitting the donation and the Provincial Grand Chapter Gift Aid envelopes to the PGL Office in Bromsgrove.
May I ask that your Chapter consider this incentive to focus our giving to those small local causes that rely solely on the generosity of their community as together we can a bit more of a difference.
Yours Sincerely & Fraternally
John Wright
Provincial Grand Charity Steward
